Shinhan Bank is one of the big 3 banks in Korea with total deposits received amounting to 190 trillion won as of the end of 2014, which operates the largest internet banking service in Korea. Shinhan Bank recognized limits in the real-time processing capabilities of the WAS monitoring tool from foreign P company, which it introduced when its next-generation system was built, and considered replacing the WAS monitoring tool as a fast and proactive action. Shinhan Bank tried to find a new tool, considering the characteristics of banking business where user traffic peaks during certain hours, service availability at peak hours with a large amount of transactions, and efficiency and cost saving, and finally selected and introduced DabomSoft’s ENPHAROS JAVA as a standard tool.

•Background |
Shinhan Bank is one of the big 3 banks in Korea with total deposits received amounting to 190 trillion won as of the end of 2014, which operates the largest internet banking service in Korea. Shinhan Bank recognized limits in the real-time processing capabilities of the WAS monitoring tool from foreign P company, which it introduced when its next-generation system was built, and considered replacing the WAS monitoring tool as a fast and proactive action.
Shinhan Bank tried to find a new tool, considering the characteristics of banking business where user traffic peaks during certain hours, service availability at peak hours with a large amount of transactions, and efficiency and cost saving, and finally selected and introduced Dabom Soft’s ENPHAROS JAVA as a standard tool.

•Benefits |
With the introduction of ENPHAROS JAVA, Shinhan Bank could convert the cycle of performance monitoring from monitoring based on 5-minute statistics to real-time monitoring, dramatically improving its capabilities to respond to errors, and secure high level application performance management for ever-growing non-face-to-face channels including electronic banking. As the client is able to monitor the operations of the WAS server and JAVA daemon, which process over 20 business areas including internet banking, on a single screen, the efficiency of operation management was dramatically improved. In addition, efficient utilization of resources during peak hours ensures consistent service performance. Furthermore, by diagnosing less-performing services through accurate post-analysis and establishing countermeasures, the client could achieve a dramatically improved response time. Highly satisfied with these benefits, Shinhan Bank has continuously expanded the application of ENPHAROS JAVA to its development and operation activities over the past seven years since the first introduction of the solution.
